LGCC awards project grants annually.
2025 grant recipients include:

Dawes Arboretum
Relocated an existing native plant garden to a publicly accessible area call the Red Barn Reserve.

Franklinton Farms
Installed irrigation at several of the Franklinton Gardens. Franklinton Farm’s mission is to nourish neighborhood wellbeing and connection through farming, gardening and education.

Franklin Park Conservatory
Supported the Teen Corp garden program by funding a new irrigation system. Teen Corps is a high impact program for teens providing hands on experiences in urban farming.

Park of Roses
Provided annuals for a renovated bed with an enlarged stone perimeter.

Community Development for All People
Provided much-needed employee support of their South Side Community Gardens.

Local Matters
In collaboration with My Project USA grant funding was used to build raised gardens in a former abandoned urban area in the Hilltop.

Open Door
Created a Shakespeare Garden which will be part of a planned Open Theater outdoor space supporting programming for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Garden District
Revitalized Southside abandoned urban farm to include a community garden, mushroom production, research plot , “Become a Farmer” program and native landscape installation around the perimeter.

Licking County Master Gardeners
Supported a Grow Healthy, free educational and outreach community gardening program targeted to low income residents.

Star House
Improved the landscaping at the Drop-In Center’s front entrance. Star House provides a home and a chance to thrive for young people in Central Ohio.

Bexley Community Gardens
Replaced and expanded the raised beds in the South Garden . All produce raised in these gardens is donated to local food pantries.

Friends of the Olentangy River
Created of an outdoor classroom and a pollinator meadow for Columbus Valley Forge Elementary School.

Maryhaven
Created a recovery garden for Maryhaven Residents.

Robbins Hunter Museum
A special request was made to assist in restoring the Museum’s Historic Garden after significant damage due to a plumbing failure. The gardens are representative of those found in stately 1842 gardens and provided a perfect setting when The Robbins Hunter Museum hosted our 2017 flower show!

Highland Youth Garden
Expanded the program Backyard Family Garden Project by adding 10 new beds. The program provides free backyard raised bed gardens to grow vegetables and flowers with expert mentorship for families who live in the low income neighborhood of the Hilltop.
