garden designer who has developed a distinctive style he calls Midwest Modern, one that relies

on a balance of natural paving and innovative perennial plantings. Their garden is plant centric,

ecologically sensitive and family forward. This is a very special opportunity as he and Allison

rarely open their garden to the public!

Andrea Reid, Vice President of Franklin Art Glass, will give a presentation about the use of

nature and floral motifs in some of the works completed by Franklin Art Glass studios. A

notable project is their continued partnership with the restoration of the Huntington Chapel at

the Greenlawn Cemetery. Greenlawn is one of our “Grants in Action” and Randy Rogers, an

arborist and naturalist from Greenlawn, will briefly share how they have used our grant

dollars. Following the presentation we will also have the opportunity to explore the studio and see the

artists and craftsmen at work.

We are honored to welcome internationally acclaimed garden designer Fergus Garrett as our

guest speaker. This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the world’s foremost

voices in horticulture. Widely regarded as one of the most influential garden designers and

horticultural leaders of our :me, he is Head Gardener and Chief Executive of Great Dixter in East

Sussex, England. This event is a fundraiser for our club and is open to the public, with a

sponsorship reception preceding the lecture.

Gather, create and give thanks at this hands-on floral workshop led by Sarah Ziegler of Vie de la

Fete. Each guest brings a small (6-8 inch) container from home—something simple, seasonal, or

meaningful—to transform into a beau:ful Thanksgiving-inspired floral arrangement. Following

the mee:ng and workshop Thread will host a “Sip and Shop” for LGCC members and will donate

15% of all sales back to our organiza:on.

Harvey Webster is a premier conservationist whose career working for the Cleveland Museum of

Natural History as the Chief Wildlife Oﬃcer spanned 50 years. His most important contribution to

Ohio’s natural resources was his role in revitalizing the nearly extinct bald eagle population. Join us

for an unforgettable evening and dinner with Harvey learning about the history of extinction. Are

we in a period of mass extinction today? What are the signs? How did Harvey save the Bald

Eagle?
